Network Marketing Begins with Social Networking
49
Ultimately without social networking, MLM just wouldn't work well. It's the basis behind building your business and continually strengthening it.
Now I think most people reading this would agree that without talking to new people and your current list of friends and acquaintances, you wouldn't have much of a shot of enrolling anyone into your business or purchasing your product.
So the concept definitely seems like a no-brainer but the real secret if there is any, would be in the fact that what we really have to be doing that whole time is something called "building trust".
It's one thing to say hello from time to time and maybe have a quick conversation back & forth on sites like MySpace, FaceBook and Twitter, but if that's all your efforts are going to equate to then don't be surprised if the results aren't that great.
As it's been mentioned before, most people don't join your business or buy your product unless they like something about YOU.
Let's face it, there's plenty of other business opportunities and other places to get the same product or a similar product so WHY should they deal with you ?
WHY because you're hopefully going to give them one over a period of approximately 2 to 6 months from adding them as a friend.
And remember if you are trying to get them to like you for YOU, then by all means don't be shoving your business at them in a spammy way.
The best way to get your ulterior motives across is by leaving little hints here & there over time. Your profile should not be crammed full of your business agendas or product line. It's OK to have mention of what it is that you're involved with but use discretion. There's always a time & place for your business stuff but it's definitely not on your directly on your profile.
When it comes to Twitter it's always wise to watch what you post as well. Adding direct URL links to things that are quite direct to what you're promoting has never fared well for me and I'm sure it wont for you either.
The best way around these situations is to have a splash page in between your twitter post and the actual direct landing page that has what you really want people to see. Having it be there right away makes you look like nothing more a salesperson and we all know what that equates to in their minds. The splash page should be nothing more than something that provides them with some kind of a reason to now click on the hyperlink that takes them to opportunity or product presentation.
Another place for your business stuff would be on a business group homepage that you can create on MySpace or FaceBook. It will create 2 important things.
One, it's the right place for implying business. Two, if done correctly it establishes your knowledge, willingness to share and leadership.
That sounds like a win-win situation to me.
So all you have to do is put out invitations to your new business group in a non-intrusive way and the worst thing that can happen is that some will not accept or join. Some of the ones that do join may not actually be in a business yet and once again if you are creative & knowledgeable enough you may have a good chance of leading them into your business at some point.
If you are not yet that knowledgeable or confident enough to pull it off, then it's time for you to start doing your homework. There's so many resources and successful marketers out there to learn from so there's no excuse. All successful people have had to do it and it will not be any different for you either. If there's any big secret to being a success in this industry especially.. that was it.
You have to put in your time and learn everything there is to know about network marketing. Once you know enough then you can start applying it and have the ability to help others do the same. There will be certain things that will be easily duplicatable out of your experiences and other things that will not be, therefore causing your enrollees to have to do their part in their own learning process.
OK so getting back to our original topic.. to wrap things up.. you will have to come across with leadership, be yourself for the most part and never seem impatient when it comes to enrolling people and good things should start happening.
